Your Contributions Will Include:

  • Engaging in both individual and collaborative scholarly activities.
  • Serving as a mentor and facilitator, providing essential guidance and academic support to students both inside and outside the classroom.
  • Exhibiting a strong passion for teaching, fostering active learning, and offering personalized feedback that nurtures each student's growth.
  • Contributing to the continuous improvement of personal and team performance, as well as course and curriculum quality, in alignment with the University and School's improvement plans.

  • Employing diverse active learning methodologies to instruct students while collecting evidence of their achievement of learning outcomes, competencies, and practice readiness.
  • Participating in professional development and service in accordance with university policies.
  • Actively engaging in student recruitment, remediation, and retention efforts to support the program's admissions and progression objectives.
  • As directed by the Department Chair, developing a clinical practice site to enhance experiential education for students.

In the Clinical Setting, Your Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Assuming responsibility for students in clinical environments.
  • Clarifying clinical expectations with students.
  • Coordinating student placements and expectations with clinical facility staff.
  • Utilizing planning time to guide students toward necessary resources for clinical preparation.
  • Assessing student knowledge and skills to ensure safety and optimal patient care.
  • Facilitating pre- and post-conference discussions to allow students to share their experiences, ensuring clarity between theoretical content and clinical objectives.
  • Providing immediate feedback on clinical performance following observations, as well as overall performance evaluations at midterm and semester's end.

Your Qualifications Include:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Understanding of state, federal, and local regulations related to educational programs and compliance standards (e.g., ACPE, NABP, WSCUC, California Board of Pharmacy).
  • If tasked with developing a clinical practice site, possession of a current California Registered Pharmacist License is required or must be obtained within six months of hire.

Educational Background:

Your education and experience must comply with state regulations and the requirements of state authorization agencies. A PharmD degree or a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy combined with ten years of professional experience in relevant areas is required. Additionally, a documented background in educational methodologies consistent with teaching assignments, including education theory, current clinical practice, and distance education techniques, is essential.
