Job Title: Area Transmission Planner I

PacifiCorp is seeking a highly skilled Area Transmission Planner I to join our team. As a key member of our Power Delivery department, you will play a critical role in planning and implementing transmission projects to ensure the reliable and efficient operation of our transmission system.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement transmission planning studies to ensure compliance with NERC/WECC reliability standards.
  • Design and develop transmission systems, processes, and facilities to support company objectives.
  • Conduct engineering studies and evaluations to determine the feasibility of transmission projects.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement transmission projects.
  • Recommend alternative engineering solutions to management to meet business needs.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Project management and leadership skills, including the ability to work as a team member and maintain project timelines and budgets.
  • Ability to perform effectively in high-pressure situations while maintaining focus and calm.
  • Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to work cross-functionally to understand requirements and present alternatives and recommendations.
  • Familiarity with the use of personal computers, including automated tools and software applications, such as power flow and dynamic analysis, database management, and Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Professional Engineer (PE) certification.
  • Power Option (particularly Power System Analysis).
  • Advanced Degree.
  • Preferred one or more years of directly related experience in transmission modeling, transmission system engineering, and/or transmission system planning.
  • Knowledge of applicable federal, state, local laws, regulations, the National Electric Codes, and familiarity with NERC and WECC reliability standards.

PacifiCorp offers a competitive salary range of $76,200-$89,600, as well as an annual discretionary performance incentive bonus of up to 12.00% of salary. Additionally, we offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health care, retirement, paid time off, tuition assistance, paid short-term and long-term disability, and paid bereavement leave.
