Job Summary:

The Senior Accountant is responsible for a wide range of accounting functions, including:

  • General accounting, accounts receivable, and accounts payable
  • Cash receipts, AP invoice coding, journal entries, and reporting
  • Fixed assets, general ledger reconciliations, and accounting policy development
  • Providing oversight and guidance to accounting staff

Key Responsibilities:

The Senior Accountant will be responsible for:

  • Monitoring and investigating variances in cash receipts and general ledger
  • Completing vendor expense analysis and preparing general ledger journal entries
  • Reconciling complex balance sheet accounts and providing oversight to accounting staff
  • Completing tax research as needed

Core Competencies:

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office software programs, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Proficient in accounting software and banking systems
  • Experience with various accounting systems and integration tools

Preferred Qualifications:

The following qualifications are preferred:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
  • Four or more years of related experience
  • Working toward CPA certification
  • Experience preparing state tax returns and responding to state audit requests
  • Experience with Unanet and government contracts accounting and accounts receivable
