Job Summary:

The Registered Respiratory Therapist is a vital member of our healthcare team, responsible for providing high-quality respiratory care to patients. As a Respiratory Therapist at AdventHealth, you will have the opportunity to work with a talented team of professionals who share your passion for delivering exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess and make appropriate decisions regarding patient care, including developing and implementing treatment plans.
  • Communicate effectively with the multidisciplinary team to ensure seamless care coordination.
  • Provide respiratory care to patients on invasive and non-invasive mechanical ventilators, including initiating, operating, transporting, and liberating conventional and advanced modes of ventilation.
  • Perform hemodynamic procedures, including initiating, managing, and transporting Intra-Aortic Balloon Pumps as needed.
  • Obtain, perform, and report findings of blood gas and co-oximetry analysis, as well as perform quality control as needed.

Requirements:

  • Associate degree in Respiratory Therapy or Cardiopulmonary Science.
  • Active and Current State License as required by state licensing board.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification, if applicable to facility.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification, if applicable to facility.
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification, if applicable to facility.
  • Active Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Respiratory Therapy or Cardiopulmonary Science.
  • Active RRT-ACCS credential (Registered Respiratory Therapist – Adult Critical Care Specialist) from the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC).
  • Active Neonatal/Pediatric Specialty (NPS) credential.
