About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Radiologic Technologist to join our Cardiovascular Interventional Laboratory team at AdventHealth. As a Cardiovascular Interventional Laboratory Specialist, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform a wide range of technical skills during cardiovascular, non-ablation electrophysiology, or peripheral procedures to provide an efficient, comfortable, and safe examination of patients.
  • Be proficient in one of the three standard roles of scrub, circulate, and monitor, consistent with the policies, procedures, and processes of the Cardiovascular Services department and Hospital Administration.
  • Adhere to guidelines and standards of professional practice associations and actively participate in outstanding customer service.
  • Follow CDC isolation guidelines, appropriately use PPE, and perform hand hygiene according to accepted standards of care.
  • Annually meet all required department-specific competencies and verify orders and facilitate implementation, communicating with physicians as needed.
  • Perform treatments and administer medications according to policy and training, function appropriately in clinical emergencies, and evaluate the effectiveness of interventions and medications.
  • Produce an accurately written, promptly completed medical record for each patient based on the scope and complexity of the intervention procedure and patient clinical conditions.
  • Perform effectively in one of the three procedural roles required in a therapeutic cardiac laboratory team based on the Society of Invasive Cardiovascular Professionals Scope of Practice.
  • Take call as rotated/assigned and respond (in hospital) per policy.
  • Proficiently perform diagnostic coronary procedures, diagnostic electrophysiology procedures, interventional radiology procedures, peripheral diagnostic and/or interventional procedures.
  • Learns and upgrades skills, utilizes knowledge base to assist with orientation, training, and education of new personnel, and provides training for procedures within their competency.
  • May perform waived and/or non-waived Point of Care Testing, if performing non-waived Point of Care Testing, as defined by the state and the facility, must have approved competency and documented proof at the time of the facility non-waived Point of Care training.
  • Participates in quality and performance improvement activities with the goal to improve patient outcomes, accurately documents and monitors activities as needed, and participates in unit/service line budgeting processes to ensure a cost-effective, quality-focused environment.
Requirements
  • Associate degree in Cardiovascular Technology, Emergency Medical Services, Nursing, Radiologic Technology, or Respiratory Therapy.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Cert.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) - CPR Cert.
  • Must possess and maintain current, valid license in one of the following: Registered Nurse (RN) or Radiologic Technologist [R.T.(R)].
