Job Overview

POSITION SUMMARY

The Range Check-In Specialist plays a crucial role in managing all aspects of range check-in. This individual ensures that patrons are properly checked in, complete necessary documentation, and oversees the inspection of ammunition and/or the distribution of rented firearms, eye protection, ear protection, and targets as required. Effective communication with the Range Safety Officer (RSO) and other relevant personnel is essential to coordinate activities on the range. Exceptional client service and sales are key components of this role.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Achieve Results

  1. Continuously monitor all activities at the Range Check-In area.
  2. Maintain cleanliness and compliance with legal standards in all areas.
  3. Deliver outstanding customer service at check-in and in retail by leveraging knowledge of point-of-sale technology.
  4. Exhibit a professional and courteous demeanor at all times.
  5. Ensure a positive customer experience while upholding strict firearms safety protocols and enforcing range rules, regulations, and dress codes.
  6. Encourage sales through the rental program, targets, accessories, and more.
  7. Ensure compliance with rental firearm regulations.

Operational Excellence

  1. Adhere strictly to the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) at all times.
  2. Regularly assess conditions on the range using cameras and radio communication, making necessary adjustments.
  3. Be knowledgeable of and follow emergency response plans as required.
  4. Report daily to the General Manager regarding any operational concerns that need attention.

Relationship Management

  1. Foster and maintain collaborative relationships within the organization.
  2. Develop and sustain positive relationships with key stakeholders, including external vendors, trainers, and customers.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
  • Proficient in operating point-of-sale systems.
  • Strong communication skills with a positive and professional attitude.
  • Customer service-oriented with excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Capability to stand for extended periods.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

High school diploma is required; college coursework is preferred.

Knowledge of firearms and relevant safety procedures is essential.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

Willingness to work normal overtime and extended hours, including evenings and weekends.
