Billing Manager, Resident Accounts Specialist

Job Summary

As a key member of the JKV team, the Billing Manager, Resident Accounts will be responsible for directing the billing and collection of all residents' accounts receivable. This role requires a strong understanding of state and federal regulations, as well as managed care contract provisions. The successful candidate will be a strategic thinker, able to analyze complex financial data and develop effective solutions to drive revenue growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain the charge master rate schedule, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Direct billing and collections, ensuring timely filing of claims and collection thereof.
  • Administer policies and procedures related to billing and collections, ensuring clear direction for staff.
  • Maintain all records for accounts receivable, adhering to corporate records and disposition policies.
  • Establish a reporting system for aged accounts and write-offs, providing timely reports to service team leaders.
  • Develop and implement policies, procedures, and objectives for the department.
  • Interview, select, and recommend hiring of department associates, as well as counsel and discipline as needed.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
  • Five years of billing experience in a healthcare setting, with three years of supervisory experience.
  • Experience with Netsmart's myUnity EHR software and/or Axxess EHR software is preferred.
Working Conditions

This role is performed in an environmentally controlled office setting with no exposure to hazardous materials or working conditions.

  • Occasional walking and standing.
  • Frequent sitting for prolonged periods.
  • Extensive use of hands, fingers, and arms for using a computer keyboard and writing.
  • Frequent reaching with hands and arms.
  • Stoops or kneels on an occasional basis.
  • Frequent speaking and hearing to give and receive information.
  • Occasional lifting of materials weighing up to 10 pounds.
