As a key member of the JKV team, the Billing Manager, Resident Accounts will be responsible for directing the billing and collection of all residents' accounts receivable, ensuring timely and compliant billings and collections. This role requires a strong understanding of state and federal regulations, as well as managed care contract provisions.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain the charge master rate schedule, making necessary adjustments annually and as required.
- Direct billing and collections in compliance with federal and state regulations, ensuring timely filing of claims and collection thereof.
- Administer policies and procedures for billing and collections, including approval of accounts receivable adjustments and bad debt write-offs.
- Maintain all records for accounts receivable, adhering to corporate records and disposition policies.
- Track and maintain equipment assigned to the department.
- Establish a reporting system for aged accounts and write-offs, preparing and submitting reports to service team leaders.
- Develop policies, procedures, and objectives for the department.
- Interview, select, and recommend hiring of department associates, as well as counsel and discipline as needed.
- Maintain accurate associate attendance records.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and requirements.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
- Five years of billing experience in a healthcare setting, with three years of supervisory experience.
- Experience with Netsmart's myUnity EHR software and/or Axxess EHR software is preferred.
This role is performed in an environmentally controlled office setting with no exposure to hazardous materials or working conditions.
Physical and Mental Demands- Occasional walking and standing.
- Frequent sitting for prolonged periods.
- Extensive use of hands, fingers, and arms for using a computer keyboard and writing.
- Frequent reaching with hands and arms.
- Stoops or kneels on an occasional basis.
- Frequent speaking and hearing to give and receive information.
- Occasional lifting of materials weighing up to 10 pounds.
- Vision requirements include close vision, color distinction, peripheral vision, and an ability to adjust focus.
