Machine Learning Engineer

As a Machine Learning Engineer at Target, you will be part of a dynamic Data Sciences team responsible for creating personalized recommendations on Target and the Target App. Your primary focus will be on designing, implementing, and optimizing production machine learning solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement production machine learning solutions
- Participate in code reviews and create maintainable, well-tested codebases
- Work with data scientists, engineers, and product managers to understand business requirements and build solutions
About You:
We are looking for a highly skilled Machine Learning Engineer with a strong background in quantitative disciplines and experience with machine learning frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, XGBoost, and scikit-learn. You should have excellent communication skills and be able to clearly tell data-driven stories through visualizations, graphs, and narratives.
Requirements:
- 4-year degree in Quantitative disciplines (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) or equivalent experience
- Demonstrated proficiency in Python programming
- Familiarity with SQL and software design on Linux/Mac
- Familiarity with software version control such as Git and software test coverage practices and frameworks such as PyTest
Bonus Points:
- MS in Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Physics or equivalent work or industry experience
- Familiarity with cloud ML services such as Vertex AI/Azure ML/Sagemaker
- Proficiency in Java, PySpark, and/or Scala
Work Arrangement:
This position will operate as a Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement based on Target's needs. As a Hybrid/Flex for Your Day team member, you will need to perform your core role both onsite at the Target HQ MN location and virtually, depending on what your role, team, and tasks require for that day.
