About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Pharmacy Technician to join our team at Advocate Aurora Health. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient dispensing of medications to our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop competence in dispensing and delivery of medications, including the use of information systems, technology, and automation.
  • Prepare non-sterile products in accordance with USP, state, and federal recommendations.
  • Enter medication orders into the computer system and process medication requests.
  • Manage phone calls from customers and team members, providing timely and accurate resolution or hand-off as needed.
  • Develop competence in pharmacy procedures and documentation, satisfying legal, regulatory, and department requirements.
Requirements
  • Pharmacy Technician certification (CPhT) issued by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board or National Healthcare Association, obtained within 2 years.
  • High School Graduate.
  • No experience required.
Working Conditions

This role requires the ability to stand for long periods, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, crawl, kneel, climb, and reach above shoulders throughout the work day. The ability to lift up to 35 lbs from floor to chest level, lift and carry up to 35 lbs at waist height, and push/pull with 30 lbs of force is also required.
