Job Responsibilities and Qualifications

As a Nuclear Medicine Specialist at our facility, you will collaborate with a team devoted to patient care and mutual support. This role necessitates a thorough understanding of relevant technology, independent judgment, and comprehensive knowledge of all applicable Federal and State regulations. In this position, you will:

  • Execute various technical procedures involving radionuclides for the diagnosis and treatment of diseases in patients.
  • Ensure the assessment, treatment, or care is appropriate for patients of all ages: Adolescent, Adult, and Geriatric.
  • Assist physicians in utilizing therapeutic radioisotopes under established safety protocols and in the preparation and administration of radiopharmaceuticals for diagnostic purposes.
  • Verify the assay of received radionuclides and calibrate doses accordingly, as well as perform daily equipment calibration checks.
  • Maintain accurate records of equipment calibration and repairs, radiation surveys, radionuclide receipt and usage, and the storage and disposal of radioactive materials in compliance with Hospital, State, and Federal regulations.
  • Stay informed about new procedures, equipment, and methodologies, and engage in their evaluation and implementation.
  • Participate in required in-service training programs and provide instruction on specific techniques and equipment.
Required Qualifications
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
  • Nuclear Medicine Technologist (NMT) certification.
  • Registered Radiographer (ARRT) certification.
  • State Registered Radiologic Technician certification.
  • Associate Degree or completion of a Vocational School program.

This position requires full vaccination for COVID-19 in accordance with local, state, and/or federal regulations (unless a medical or religious exemption is granted).
