Recreational Therapist PRN

About the Role

Mountain View Hospital is seeking a skilled Recreational Therapist PRN to join our Behavioral Health team. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in creating a positive patient experience and promoting healthy behaviors.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement activities to foster self-awareness, increase social skills, and promote healthy creativity.
• Assess patient needs and complete patient assessments.
• Plan and implement regular groups to meet the needs of patients.
• Evaluate and document treatment goals and outcomes related to groups and patient involvement.
• Review assessments and other activities performed by technicians and assist in the supervision and mentoring of Recreational Therapy interns and new Recreational Therapists.
• Provide consultation to other hospital areas as directed by physician order, and under the supervision of the unit director.

Requirements

• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• Nonviolent Crisis Intervention must be obtained within 1 year of employment start date.
• Bachelors Degree.
• Music Therapist, or Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist.
