As a Cybersecurity Engineer specializing in Splunk and Cribl, your role will involve mitigating network threats, identifying complex attack vectors, and neutralizing exploitation techniques.

This position offers you the chance to leverage your leadership, strategic, and analytical expertise to enhance Booz Allen's service delivery to clients. You will work independently or within a small, integrated team, leading projects or initiatives. Your responsibilities will include ensuring project success and providing mentorship and direction to junior technicians, specialists, and managers. You will bring your knowledge in the engineering design, development, and implementation of enterprise network cyber defense capabilities. Your familiarity with the configuration and deployment of cyber defense tools—including web content filters, email security solutions, Intrusion Detection Systems, Intrusion Prevention Systems, Host-Based Security Systems, Security Incident and Event Management tools, Domain Name System security practices, advanced log analysis, network monitoring, packet capture analysis, network proxies, firewalls, anti-virus solutions, and access control lists—will be essential. Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in Splunk or Cribl systems administration
  • Proficiency with Windows and Linux, including the installation, configuration, and maintenance of server operating systems and applications
  • Experience with STIGs, SCAP, and cybersecurity best practices
  • Active TS/SCI clearance; willingness to undergo a polygraph examination
  • High school diploma or GED with 7+ years of experience in cyber engineering projects, Associate's degree with 5+ years, Bachelor's degree with 3+ years, or Master's degree with 1+ year of relevant experience
  • DoD M Information Assurance Technician (IAT) Level II Certification, such as Security+ CE, CCNA-Security, GSEC, SSCP, CySA+, GICSP, or CND Certification
  • DoD M Cyber Security Service Provider - Infrastructure Support Certification, including CEH, CySA+, GICSP, SSCP, CHFI, CFR, Cloud+, or CND Certification

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with VMWare
  • Knowledge of big data analytics, machine learning, artificial intelligence, or anomaly detection
  • Proficiency in scripting with PowerShell, BASH, Python, or Perl
  • Experience in a consulting or client-facing role
  • Ability to automate security configurations for Linux and Windows systems and recommend remediation for non-compliant security controls
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to present complex ideas effectively
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities

Clearance Requirements:

Selected candidates will undergo a security investigation and must meet eligibility criteria for access to classified information; TS/SCI clearance is mandatory.

The salary for this position is determined by various factors, including location, education, skills, competencies, experience, and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this role is $75,600.00 to $172,000.00 annually. This range represents the typical salary for this position and is part of Booz Allen's total compensation package.

Work Environment:
