Pelvic Rehabilitation Specialist

Job Summary:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

REHABILITATION SERVICES:

  • Designs, organizes, and executes tailored physical therapy programs for specialized patient demographics to enhance, restore, or maintain physical capabilities, alleviate discomfort, or avert physical impairments.
  • Conducts and records patient assessments and evaluations in accordance with established protocols and regulatory standards.
  • Utilizes evaluation data to identify issues and diagnoses, subsequently formulating and revising the patient's Care Plan.
  • Evaluates and administers treatment for patients in alignment with the care plan, adhering to established protocols.
  • Completes all necessary documentation related to billing in compliance with established standards.
  • Facilitates effective and efficient coordination of patient care with other healthcare providers and support personnel.
  • Ensures adherence to departmental and organizational policies and responsibilities.
  • Provides clinical oversight to assistants and/or aides.

Completes the following three responsibilities annually, pre-approved by a supervisor:

  • Delivers department-specific evidence-based practice training, community education events, or activities.
  • Offers training and competency resources within the scope of clinical expertise.
  • Mentors and trains new or assigned therapists, assistants, and aides.
  • Contributes to performance enhancement initiatives or projects.
  • Facilitates student clinical experiences lasting a minimum of six weeks.
  • Engages in other organizational priority tasks as requested and approved by a supervisor.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Graduate of an accredited physical therapy program.

CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE:

  • PT - Licensed Physical Therapist
  • BLS - Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider
  • Must hold one of the following certifications:
  • CHT - Certified Hand Therapist
  • OR ABPTS - American Board of Physical Therapy Specialist Certification
  • OR CBIS - Certified Brain Injury Specialist
  • OR PRPC - Pelvic Rehabilitation Practitioner Certified
  • OR PORI - Certified Oncology Therapist
  • OR LANA - Certified Lymphedema Therapist
  • OR AOTA - Advanced Practice Certification
  • OR CWS - Certified Wound Specialist
  • OR COMT - Certified Orthopedic Musculoskeletal Therapist
  • OR Fellowship Programs accredited by the American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapists
  • OR CCIP-1 and CCIP-2 - Physical Therapist Credentialed Clinical Instructor
  • OR IBCLC - International Board Certified Lactation Consultant
  • OR ATP - Assistive Technology Professional Certification

DEPARTMENTAL CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE:

  • Department: Home Health, Valid Driver's License Class C

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience relevant to the specific specialty certification.

  • Possesses knowledge of professional practice and regulatory requirements.

  • Proficient in computer technology and required software.
  • Exhibits strong professional communication skills, both verbal and written, along with interpersonal skills, conflict resolution, teamwork, and customer service abilities.
  • Capable of retaining and applying new knowledge and skills.
  • Stays informed about advancements in professional practice.
  • Demonstrates depth of knowledge and skill in clinical specialty areas through certification and competency.
  • Able to educate others and engage in public speaking.
  • Competent in assessing skills and developing training materials.
  • Able to extract evidence-based practice information and apply it to clinical practice and training materials.
  • Skilled in complex problem-solving and data analysis from various sources.

Pay Range is $68.28 to $85.32 / hour.

The salary range for this role may vary based on location and other factors including experience, education, skills, licensure, and organizational needs. Base pay is one component of the total rewards program offered by Sutter Health, which includes a comprehensive benefits package.
