Position: Credit Manager

Key Responsibilities:

The Credit Manager will oversee credit operations, focusing on underwriting and risk assessment.

  • Manage the organization’s credit portfolios to mitigate risk, ensure quality control, and reduce losses.
  • Assist in the evaluation and interpretation of new and existing regulations that may impact the organization’s credit policies.
  • Assess potential credit relationships to verify the adequacy of underwriting processes.
  • Contribute to the development or modification of policies, procedures, and agreements to guarantee compliance with regulatory standards, ensuring any deviations are addressed.
  • Consult with senior management regarding risks associated with complex or atypical loan relationships.
  • Lead a team of Credit Analysts and Portfolio Managers in credit analysis, underwriting, ongoing portfolio management, and accurate risk rating assignments.
  • Support the implementation of Abrigo/Sageworks software to uphold consistent underwriting standards and track the ongoing receipt of financial reports from borrowers.
  • Train Credit Analysts to conduct thorough and consistent analyses of loan relationships while fostering a collaborative team environment.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management, Finance, or Business is required.
  • A minimum of 7 years of management experience in a financial institution, with a focus on credit risk management.
  • At least 3 years of experience in a leadership role.
  • Experience in developing or overseeing risk management strategies for financial institutions with assets of $3 billion or more is preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, along with excellent interpersonal abilities.
  • Proven persistence and a willingness to take calculated risks.
  • Exceptional analytical and reasoning capabilities.
  • Able to accept responsibility and effectively motivate and direct team activities.
  • Demonstrated organizational and planning skills, with the ability to guide projects to successful completion.
  • Strategic thinker with the capability to translate strategies into actionable risk management objectives.
  • Ability to cultivate strong working relationships and engage with colleagues and management at all organizational levels.
