As a Project Manager, this role is responsible for delivery of engineered automation systems for a variety of industries. This includes coordinating the multidisciplinary teams to manage the technical and commercial aspects of medium and large-scale projects. This role requires a combination of project management skills and expertise in developing and maintaining comprehensive schedules.


What we need you to do:

• Assemble project teams.

• Responsible for project timelines, milestones, cost estimates and deliverables.

• Development of acceptance plan

• Develop and optimize project plans/schedules.

• Identify critical paths and dependencies to mitigate risks and optimize project timelines.

• Cultivate customer relationships while communicating timing plans, critical path tasks, manage scope, and ensuring customer satisfaction.

• Lead meetings, both internally and externally, to keep customer and Mid-State Engineering teams closely aligned from project kick off through completion.

• Keep project within scope of work, on time, and on budget.

• Create and maintain all project documentation.

• Interface between Mid-State Engineering team(s) and customer during project installations and commissioning

• Conduct after project reviews.


Resource Allocation:

• Work closely with department heads to allocate resources effectively and ensure that project teams have the necessary tools and support.

• Monitor resource utilization and adjust allocations based on project priorities.

Communication and Collaboration:

• Facilitate communication among cross-functional teams, ensuring all teams aligned with project goals and timelines.

• Conduct regular project status meetings, providing updates on progress, issues, and changes.

• Collaborate with team members to resolve conflicts and promote a positive working environment.


Risk Management:

• Identify potential risks and issues that may impact project timelines or deliverables.

• Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to address challenges proactively.

Budget Management:

• Collaborate with financial teams to manage project budgets.

• Monitor project expenses and ensure adherence to budgetary constraints.


Quality Assurance:

• Implement quality control processes to ensure that project deliverables meet established standards.

• Conduct regular reviews and inspections to identify and address quality issues.

Reporting and Documentation:

• Generate regular reports on project status, milestones achieved, and upcoming tasks.

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation, including schedules, resource plans, and risk assessments.


Continuous Improvement:

• Evaluate project processes and outcomes to identify opportunities for improvement.

• Implement best practices and lessons learned from previous projects to enhance overall project management efficiency.


What qualifications you will need:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience; • PMP (Project Management Professional) certification.

• Proven experience as a Project Manager in the automation space with a focus on resource management.

• Proficiency in project management tools and software.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to lead and motivate cross-functional teams.

• Detail-oriented with a focus on quality and accuracy.

• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.

• This is an on-site role with frequent interaction with engineers and operational staff. Meetings take place in an office setting and on the shop floor.

• When traveling to the various company sites, the noise level in the office area is conversational. The shop floor work environment meets federal health and safety standards.
