Position Summary
The Logistics Coordinator (LC) is essential for ensuring the efficient operation of the Trips facility during peak seasons. Key qualities include patience, kindness, and a sense of humor, as the role involves a fast-paced environment with diverse personalities. Responsibilities include managing gear issuance, maintaining its condition, and overseeing crew flow. Key tasks involve organizing supplies, processing laundry, restocking food provisions, and ensuring cleanliness. LCs may also supervise interns and volunteers while addressing inquiries about gear and food supplies. Attention to detail and high standards are crucial for supporting our expeditions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Logistics Support
- Ensure exceptional organization and cleanliness in the warehouse and food room.
- Supply, clean, and issue all necessary equipment and supplies for courses.
- Maintain an organized student clothing closet.
- Perform repairs within areas of expertise and learn new skills as needed.
- Prepare equipment inventories and identify gear for retirement.
- Alert the Logistics Manager to anticipated shortages of food and gear.
- Assist in baking summer bars and other provisions.
- Participate in all-school functions, events, and daily chores.
- Collaborate with team members to support instructional staff and students.
- Assist with program needs, including driving and other tasks.
- Ensure the school store is stocked and ready for use.
- Perform other assigned duties.
- Train interns and volunteers in tasks necessary for course support and logistics operations.
- Support the basecamp's on-call field response system as needed.
- Adhere to local operating procedures and safety policies.
Knowledge & Abilities
- Equipment repair and maintenance skills.
- Strong technical abilities in sewing, boat repair, stove repair, or zippers.

This is a seasonal, hourly position. The hourly rate ranges from $13 to $17, depending on experience.
