We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our team in the Surgical Trauma Intensive Care Unit at Inova Fairfax Medical Campus. As a critical care nurse, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care to critically ill or injured trauma patients.
Key Responsibilities- Provide high-quality patient care to trauma patients, including those requiring invasive hemodynamic and/or cardiac monitoring, massive transfusion protocol, and intracranial pressure monitoring.
- Collaborate with the trauma team, including trauma surgeons and emergency department staff, to respond to critically ill trauma patients.
- Work in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:2 or 1:1, depending on patient needs.
- Participate in the development and implementation of individualized patient care plans, including post-operative recovery for extensive surgical procedures and continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT).
- Minimum 1 year of RN experience, with a preference for 2+ years of experience.
- Education: BSN from an accredited school of nursing. If RN has an Associates Degree (ADN), must complete BSN within 5 years of start date.
- BLS for Healthcare Provider Certification required, with ACLS strongly preferred (must obtain within first 3 months).
- RN licensed, or eligible to practice in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a RN.
- Proficient in English, with strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to display a caring demeanor towards others.
- Proficient computer skills required.
