Banner Staffing Services (BSS) provides Registry/Per Diem roles within Banner Health. These positions are employed as necessary across our facilities, offering an excellent way to initiate your career with Banner Health. Requirements: A minimum of 12-18 months of recent inpatient Preoperative/PACU experience is essential. Registry/Per Diem roles do not guarantee hours and do not include a medical benefits package. Successful completion of a post-offer Occupational Health physical assessment, drug screening, and background checks (including employment, criminal, and educational history) is mandatory.

POSITION SUMMARY
This role involves assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating, and documenting nursing care for patients in line with organizational policies and professional nursing standards. The position is accountable for the quality of nursing services provided by oneself or others under their supervision.

CORE FUNCTIONS
1. Conducts comprehensive assessments of patients' physical, psychological, social, spiritual, educational, developmental, cultural, and discharge planning needs. Reviews patient history and physical data with patients and families, ensuring timely completion. Analyzes information gathered from other healthcare team members and reviews diagnostic and laboratory results, reporting any abnormalities to the relevant physician(s) and caregivers.

2. Develops a comprehensive care plan, including discharge planning, utilizing assessment data and input from patients, families, and the healthcare team. Establishes realistic and measurable goals in collaboration with the patient and family, considering their unique needs.

3. Executes the care plan through direct patient care and by coordinating, delegating, and supervising the healthcare team's activities. Ensures compliance with physician orders and nursing care standards while promoting continuity of care through effective communication.

4. Assesses and revises the care plan based on the patient's and family's responses to care and education, collaborating with other healthcare professionals to evaluate progress towards goals.

5. Accurately documents all aspects of patient care, ensuring that records are legible, timely, and in accordance with policy, reflecting both objective and subjective data.

6. Provides care grounded in the best available evidence and may engage in research activities. Participates in shared leadership within the unit or facility and contributes to the education and development of staff and patients.

7. Engages in activities that enhance patient outcomes through effective, efficient, and safe care, contributing to the improvement of national nursing quality indicators.

8. In certain roles, this position may include supervisory responsibilities for staff and departmental workflow.

9. Collaborates with various levels of staff across departments, physicians, patients, families, and external contacts to ensure comprehensive patient care. Engages with other healthcare providers to clarify information and support patients' spiritual needs.
