Qualifications: A minimum of 12-18 months of recent inpatient Preoperative/PACU experience is required. Please note that Registry/Per Diem roles do not guarantee hours and do not include a medical benefits package. Completion of a post-offer Occupational Health physical assessment, drug screening, and background checks (including employment, criminal, and educational verification) is mandatory.
POSITION SUMMARY
This role involves assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating, and documenting nursing care for patients in accordance with organizational policies and professional nursing standards. The individual in this position is accountable for the quality of nursing services delivered, whether personally or through others under their supervision.
CORE FUNCTIONS
1. Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' physical, psychological, social, spiritual, educational, developmental, cultural, and discharge planning needs. Collaborate with patients and families to review histories and ensure timely completion of assessments.
2. Develop a personalized care plan, including discharge planning, based on assessment data and input from patients, families, and the healthcare team. Ensure goals are realistic, measurable, and aligned with patient needs.
3. Execute the care plan through direct patient care and by coordinating, delegating, and supervising the healthcare team’s activities. Ensure compliance with physician orders and nursing protocols.
4. Assess and evaluate patients' and families' responses to care and education, modifying the care plan as necessary based on patient progress and feedback.
5. Maintain accurate and timely documentation of assessments, planning, implementation, and evaluation in the patient record, ensuring compliance with policies.
6. Provide care based on the best available evidence and engage in research activities as applicable. Participate in shared leadership and contribute to the education and development of staff and students.
7. Strive for excellence in patient outcomes through effective, efficient, and safe care delivery. Engage in initiatives to improve national nursing quality indicators.
8. In certain roles, this position may involve supervising staff and managing departmental workflow.
9. Collaborate with various healthcare professionals, patients, families, and external contacts to ensure comprehensive patient care, including spiritual support when needed.
