Equipment Maintenance Specialist

This Equipment Maintenance Specialist Position Features:
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conduct preventive, routine, and emergency maintenance on internal combustion engines, pumps, compressors, and drilling apparatus.
- Ensure compliance with all reporting protocols and maintain accurate documentation related to equipment maintenance, including service records and instructional manuals.
- Familiarize oneself with the electronic data processing (EDP) maintenance system onboard.
- Manage inventory levels of spare parts and consumables, reporting shortages to management while considering future maintenance needs.
- Oversee the reliability assessment of spare parts used in operations.
- Supervise the disassembly, transport, and reassembly of power plants and drilling equipment during land rig transfers.
- Adhere to all regulations set forth by classification societies and relevant authorities within the scope of responsibility.
- Ensure clear understanding and execution of all verbal and written instructions received.
- Maintain a strong safety focus in all tasks, utilizing required personal protective equipment.
- Stay informed about applicable work and safety procedures, promoting their implementation among team members.
- Conduct thorough investigations and ensure all safety precautions are in place before commencing maintenance activities.
- Provide guidance to personnel under supervision regarding their roles and necessary safety measures prior to work initiation.
- Ensure that all personnel, including oneself, wear life vests and safety lines when operating in exposed areas.
- Promptly report all incidents, near-misses, and safety concerns to the immediate supervisor.
- Participate actively in safety meetings and drills conducted onboard.
- Execute duties in alignment with the Emergency Preparedness Action Plan when required.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in all work areas.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience with heavy machinery.
- Possession of a degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
- Strong safety awareness, communication, and supervisory capabilities.
- Proficient in computer applications.
- Experience with top drive systems.
- Fluency in the English language.
