Role Summary:
The Operations and Maintenance Supervisor is tasked with overseeing a variety of essential labor functions, focusing on the operation and upkeep of diverse equipment across multiple facilities. This role requires proficiency in operating pneumatic tools and air compressors, ensuring that all plant equipment and processes are maintained in optimal condition through effective maintenance strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular assessments of equipment status, identifying issues and adhering to maintenance protocols.
- Manage and monitor the Main Control System, utilizing both manual and computerized methods.
- Alert management regarding maintenance requirements.
- Facilitate clear communication with colleagues, supervisors, and management through both written and verbal channels.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
- A vocational or Associate's Degree in a relevant field or completion of an applicable Apprenticeship Program is preferred. Relevant experience may substitute for formal education.
- Extensive knowledge of water and wastewater treatment operations is essential.
- A minimum of 7-10 years of experience in the water and/or wastewater treatment sector, holding appropriate certifications.
Skills and Competencies:
- Proficient in the use of basic hand and power tools.
- Ability to assume responsible charge of the facility and respond effectively to unforeseen circumstances.
- Capable of operating water/wastewater facilities in compliance with federal and state regulations.
- Skilled in interpreting technical documents and blueprints, with a solid understanding of safety codes and procedures.
- Experience in operating heavy machinery, including boom trucks and electric generators.
Certifications and Licenses:
- Must possess MS Wastewater IV or higher/Water A Certification as mandated by the facility.
- A valid driver's license is required, with a preference for CDL holders who meet risk management criteria.
Physical Demands:
- Regularly required to communicate effectively.
- Frequently required to stand, walk, climb, and perform various physical activities.
- Occasionally required to lift and/or move items weighing up to 25 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required include the ability to distinguish colors and maintain close and distance vision.
