Job Title: Associate Director for Employer and Alumni Engagement

Amherst College is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Associate Director for Employer and Alumni Engagement to join our team. This is a full-time, year-round position that requires a strong understanding of employer development and alumni engagement strategies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Cultivate new relationships with organizations, alumni, parents, and other friends of the college to increase and expand the number of quality internship and job opportunities for Amherst students.
  • Manage employer development planning and execution of new recruitment strategies.
  • Identify and cultivate relationships with employers who foster a diverse and inclusive workplace.
  • Work collaboratively with on-campus partners, including faculty members and other administrators, to identify opportunities to engage employers and alumni.
  • Develop ongoing marketing strategies and materials to bring greater visibility of the college to employers and industries.
  • Conduct on-site visits with current and prospective employer contacts and College alumni to increase engagement with recruiting opportunities.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree or a combination of education and relevant experience.
  • 5 years related experience in higher education, business, or nonprofit setting.
  • Knowledge of current employment trends, branding strategies, and targeted recruitment principles, procedures, and resources.
  • Relevant experience with early career recruiting.
  • Solid relationship-building skills, able to interface with executive-level leaders within a company, alumni, donors, volunteers, faculty, and administrators.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral, as well as high-level of nimbleness and maturity in social and professional settings.
  • Excellent time-management and organizational skills, including the flexibility to balance multiple priorities with reliable attention to detail.
  • Commitment to working with a diverse and inclusive community.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Able to work evenings, weekends, etc., as needed for events and programs.
  • Must be willing to travel to meet with employers and alumni as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in corporate/campus recruiting, employer relations, or related donor/volunteer relations field.
