Maintenance Technician

Tenneco is a leading designer, manufacturer, and marketer of automotive products for original equipment and aftermarket customers. We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team at our manufacturing facility.
Key Responsibilities- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on equipment, machinery, and building facilities to ensure efficient and safe operations.
- Identify and troubleshoot problems, taking corrective action to minimize production downtime and ensure all equipment is in good working condition.
- Work effectively independently and as part of a team, responding to requests and directions from supervisors and colleagues.
- Locate, troubleshoot, and repair breakdowns and problems with machinery and building facilities, completing required paperwork.
- Perform preventive maintenance on equipment, machinery, and facilities as scheduled, following guidelines and completing required forms.
- Upgrade and rebuild equipment and machinery, install electrical drops, assemble new components, and design new circuits as needed to ensure production lines run correctly and safely.
- Apply Lean principles, Quick Change Technology, Total Productive Maintenance, Cell Design, and 5S to improve plant efficiency.
- Meet safety, environmental, quality, productivity, and performance standards outlined in plant policies, handbooks, and work instructions.
- Work overtime as required or requested.
- Electrical, electronics, mechanical, hydraulics, and pneumatics skills with training and experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to demonstrate electrical, electronics, mechanical, hydraulics, and pneumatics maintenance skills.
- Completion of industrial maintenance courses or technical certificate preferred.
- Two years' associate degree in electronics or a similar discipline preferred.
- Knowledge of relay logic, programmable controllers, 3-phase electrical circuits/motors, and direct and alternating current theory.
- Ability to use electrical and electronic test equipment.
- Ability to read and follow blueprints, schematics, and other technical documentation.
- Basic welding skills.
- Knowledge and understanding of safety procedures and regulations in working with electrical and mechanical functions at Tenneco Automotive.
- Ability to work well independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to locate, troubleshoot, and correct electrical, electronics, and mechanical problems.
- Flexibility to work long hours and other schedules as needed.
- This job is performed in all areas of the building facility, including offices and production plant floor, on all equipment and machines.
- Varying temperatures (cold to hot).
- Infrequent exposure to outside weather environment.
- Fast-paced work environment.
- Small, confined space around some machines/equipment.
- Wet, slippery floors in some areas.
- Ability to lift up to [insert weight].
- Extensive standing, walking, climbing, stooping, bending over, reaching, twisting, arm, wrist, and hand motion.
- Manual dexterity.
- Good visual ability.
- Frequent skin exposure to chemical-based fluids such as coolant, drawing compounds, lubricating oils, etc.
