Role Responsibilities:

As a Perinatal Ultrasound Specialist, you will:

  • Conduct a range of perinatal ultrasound examinations utilizing high-frequency sound waves to assess internal organs and vessels for the identification of conditions in utero.
  • Prepare the examination area, obtain informed consent, and gather accurate clinical histories as needed.
  • Review patient histories to determine the appropriate selection of protocols and explain the examination process to patients.
  • Evaluate the patient's condition, perform necessary diagnostic techniques/tests, and execute required interventions.
  • Review and assess completed tests for quality and accuracy, ensuring optimal imaging results.
  • Coordinate the preparation of images/exams and necessary documentation for physician collaboration.
  • Thoroughly document and communicate patient-related information.
  • Inform patients of physician instructions or observations from ancillary caregivers and incorporate this feedback into care.
  • Meet the needs of patients, families, and the multidisciplinary team through effective communication and coordination.
  • Ensure a safe and efficient handoff between shifts through clear communication.
  • Monitor equipment reliability and safety, reporting any issues or required maintenance.
  • Manage supplies, maintain cleanliness of rooms and equipment, and transport patients as necessary.
  • Actively engage in quality improvement initiatives, including patient satisfaction and workflow enhancement.
  • May be required to assist in other departments based on business needs and qualifications.
  • May be placed on-call during scheduled shifts if necessary.
Qualifications:
American Registry of Radiologic Technology ARRT (S) or ARDMS registry is required.
Health Care Provider Life Support certification is required.
One (1) year of ultrasound experience is preferred.
