Job Summary

The Administrative Support Associate V/Health Unit Coordinator role at Albany Medical Center is a dynamic position that requires a skilled and detail-oriented individual to provide exceptional customer service, clerical, and reception duties that support the workflow of the unit, nursing station, and delivery of patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assemble and maintain patient records, ensuring accurate preparation, processing, and standardization of patient data.
  • Provide effective communication with patients, significant others, and members of the healthcare team.
  • Utilize clinical and patient information systems to support the delivery of patient care.
  • Assist in the implementation of specialized projects and maintain department reports.
  • Operate office machines, such as photocopiers, fax machines, and computers.
  • Order materials, supplies, forms, and services, and complete records and reports.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED) with post-high school training or related work experience.
  • Certification with the National Association of Health Unit Coordinators (NAHUC) preferred.
  • Minimum of one-year healthcare or clerical experience preferred.
  • Ability to operate basic office equipment and demonstrate basic computer skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with others to accomplish tasks and goals.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
