Patient Care Associate: General Surgery/Trauma- 24 hrs/week, Days

We are seeking a highly skilled Patient Care Associate to join our General Surgery/Trauma team at Albany Med. As a Patient Care Associate, you will work under the direction of the Registered Nurse to provide high-quality patient care and support.
Key Responsibilities- Collect and report patient data, including vital signs, height and weight, and food and fluid intake and output.
- Participate in care planning and the nursing report process.
- Provide personal care to patients, including bathing, oral care, and skin care.
- Assist patients with eating and hydration, grooming, dressing, and toileting.
- Employ safe patient handling techniques and promote a clean, orderly, and safe environment.
- High School Diploma/G.E.D. or equivalent required.
- Less than 1 year experience in a healthcare setting or completion of certified nurse assistant course preferred.
- Basic knowledge of medical terminology required.
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients, family members, and colleagues.
This role requires standing, walking, and lifting frequently. The ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks is essential.
