Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Mental Health Assistant to join our team in the Emergency Department. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality patient care and support under the supervision of a Registered Professional Nurse.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collect and record vital signs, height, weight, and food and fluid intake and output.
  • Report abnormal findings to the RN and patient care team.
  • Participate in care planning and the nursing report process.
  • Provide personal care to patients, including bathing, oral care, and skin care.
  • Assist patients with eating, hydration, grooming, dressing, and toileting.
  • Employ safe patient handling techniques for basic restorative care.
  • Promote a clean, orderly, and safe environment.
  • Document all care in the patient record.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma/G.E.D. - required
  • Associate's Degree - preferred
  • Previous Mental Health related experience - preferred
  • CPR - Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation Upon Hire - required
  • BCLS - Basic Life Support Upon Hire - required
