Piedmont Fayette Hospital is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Public Safety Officer to join our team. As a Public Safety Officer, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of patients, employees, visitors, and property within our facility.
Key Responsibilities- Respond to emergency incidents within the assigned facility, providing timely and effective assistance to those in need.
- Conduct routine safety and security checks to identify potential hazards and take corrective action to mitigate risks.
- Develop and maintain relationships with local law enforcement agencies to ensure a collaborative approach to emergency response.
- Provide training and education to employees on emergency procedures and safety protocols.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure a comprehensive approach to patient and employee safety.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Two years of experience in general security, military, or other public safety experience preferred.
- Valid Driver's license and adherence to Piedmont's Healthcare Vehicle Safety Program policy 3500.
- Certified Healthcare Security Officer (IAHSS) certification preferred.
- Georgia Peace Officer Standards & Training (P.O.S.T.) certification preferred.
- Ability to type approximately 30 words per minute and enter data on a computer keyboard preferred.
- Carry non-lethal weapons such as a Taser CEW and/or a baton required.
