Key Responsibilities
  • Respond to emergency incidents within the assigned facility, providing timely and effective assistance to those in need.
  • Conduct routine safety and security checks to identify potential hazards and take corrective action to mitigate risks.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with local law enforcement agencies to ensure a collaborative approach to emergency response.
  • Provide training and education to employees on emergency procedures and safety protocols.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure a comprehensive approach to patient and employee safety.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Two years of experience in general security, military, or other public safety experience preferred.
  • Valid Driver's license and adherence to Piedmont's Healthcare Vehicle Safety Program policy 3500.
  • Certified Healthcare Security Officer (IAHSS) certification preferred.
  • Georgia Peace Officer Standards & Training (P.O.S.T.) certification preferred.
  • Ability to type approximately 30 words per minute and enter data on a computer keyboard preferred.
  • Carry non-lethal weapons such as a Taser CEW and/or a baton required.
