Job Summary

The Certified Medical Assistant 1 plays a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care under the direction of a physician. This position performs a wide range of patient care activities, including maintaining accurate clinical records, administering medications, and taking vital signs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assists in examination and treatment of patients under the direction of a physician.
  • Prepares treatment rooms for patient examinations, cleans rooms after procedures, and restocks supplies.
  • Interviews patients, records information, and collects medical data to support the physician's diagnosis.
  • Measures and records patient vital signs, prepares patients for examinations and tests, and performs routine patient testing.
  • Administers medications, injections, and vaccinations as directed by the physician.
  • Removes sutures and staples, and changes dressings as requested.

Requirements

  • Medical assistant certification from a program accredited by the American Association of Medical Assistants or the American Medical Technologists.
  • Knowledge of safe and accurate medical administration practices.
  • Ability to accurately document patient information and maintain confidentiality.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
