Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Forklift Operator/Palletizer Specialist to join our team at Crown Cork & Seal USA, Inc. in Olympia, WA. As a key member of our warehouse operations, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and safe movement of materials and products throughout our facility.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate sit-down propane forklifts to transport inventory and load tractor trailers for shipment.
  • Transport inventory in the warehouse to correct locations and stage orders for shipment.
  • Understand and communicate daily production schedules with management, leads, and coworkers.
  • Perform visual inspections of aluminum cans and packaging quality.
  • Monitor schedules, equipment, or processes, and report problems to supervisors.
  • Follow all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and communicate with proper personnel as concerns or issues arise.
  • Assist Quality Assurance in locating pallets for sampling.
  • Perform other related duties as required.
Requirements
  • Minimum 18 years old.
  • High School diploma or G.E.D. preferred.
  • Equivalent with 3+ years working on a sit-down forklift experience required.
  • Working in a manufacturing setting (high-speed manufacturing is preferred).
  • Must be able to withstand extreme climate changes, especially during summer and winter months.
  • Effective and proven communication skills (both written and verbal) working in a team environment.
  • Proven ability to effectively manage multiple projects/tasks at the same time.
  • Effective record keeping skills and the ability to focus on details.
  • Must be able to stand for prolonged periods as well as work on elevated stationary platforms and withstand extreme climate changes, especially during summer months.
  • Demonstrated strong attention to detail, good record keeping, and precision abilities is highly desirable.
  • Must be able to work 12-hour shifts, either nights from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m., or days from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., weekends, and overtime as business needs dictate.
  • This position requires union membership after 30 days of hire.
Preferred Requirements
  • OSHA/Forklift Trainer Certified.
  • Beverage Packaging industry experience.
  • Knowledge of AS400.
