Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and execute designated process enhancement initiatives in accordance with site objectives.
  • Assist in the development and execution of capital projects by gathering, developing, and analyzing technical data.
  • Act as the primary contact for diagnosing and resolving process-related challenges at the site.
  • Implement safety and process-related corrective measures in line with site priorities and the Management of Change (MOC) process.
  • Gain a comprehensive understanding of all elements affecting process efficiency, product quality, and equipment reliability, including environmental considerations.
  • Identify performance deficiencies and execute modifications to equipment and processes addressing mechanical and electrical concerns.
  • Establish and maintain operational procedures in compliance with OEMS standards.
  • Utilize project management expertise to oversee multiple improvement projects concurrently.
  • Analyze issues and devise solutions employing critical thinking and focused improvement methodologies.
  • Incorporate innovative thinking into problem-solving strategies to discover unique methods for enhancing quality and consistency.
  • Collaborate closely with maintenance, COE, and other plant teams to develop solutions applicable across the organization.
  • Contribute actively to the plant's safety initiatives.
  • Serve as a key liaison with Regional CI resources on continuous improvement efforts.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
  • 7+ years of experience in manufacturing, ideally within the wood or paper sectors.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment, manage pressure, and meet deadlines; readiness to respond to after-hours inquiries regarding processes and equipment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with LEAN manufacturing, FMEA, Process Hazards Analysis, and/or Process Control Systems.
  • Background in analyzing, estimating, and planning capital expenditures.
  • Familiarity with heavy industrial machinery.
  • Experience in continuous flow processes or similar industries requiring outage planning.
Working Conditions
  • Ability to work in outdoor settings and endure temperatures exceeding 100 degrees and below 32 degrees.
  • Willingness to work in hot, humid, cold, and noisy industrial environments.
  • Commitment to adhering to safety regulations, including the use of safety equipment.
Physical Requirements
  • Capability to perform tasks such as lifting, walking, climbing, stooping, standing, pushing, and/or pulling for up to twelve (12) hours daily.
  • Ability to work around moving machinery and equipment.
  • Capacity to lift and pull up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to perform essential job functions in compliance with ADA, FMLA, and other applicable standards, including meeting productivity benchmarks.
