Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Financial Aid Analyst to join our team at The California State University. As a key member of our Student Services department, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our financial aid processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform thorough reviews of documentation required for federal and state financial aid programs
  • Apply knowledge and judgment in using principles, techniques, standards, guides, and professional skills characteristic of a particular student service program or activity
  • Assist students in making successful progress toward their degree objectives
  • Provide learning experiences that supplement those in the classroom
  • Monitor federal and state awards, and loan certification
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of Title IV program rules and regulations, state grant requirements, and institutional policies and procedures
Requirements
  • Working knowledge of the methods and problems of organization and program management
  • Ability to rapidly acquire a working knowledge of the specific objectives of the campus Student Services program and its relationship to the total campus operation
  • Interpret and apply program rules and regulations
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment subject to frequent change
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to provide services to a diverse student population
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience advising students; either in a group or individual setting
  • Knowledge of: CMS, PeopleSoft, NSLDS, COD, WebGrants, ELM, and Hyland OnBase Imaging System
  • Two or more years of experience working in a Financial Aid Office with direct experience performing verification and awarding student financial aid with specific Title IV programs
