Job Title: Environmental Health and Safety Specialist

Planet Pharma is seeking an experienced Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Specialist to join our team. As an EHS Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the company's compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as internal policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide support to the site to ensure compliance with environmental and safety laws, regulations, codes, and consensus standards.
  • Develop and implement EHS programs to achieve regulatory compliance and continuous performance improvement.
  • Collaborate with operations to develop objectives and strategies to achieve EHS performance goals.
  • Manage the day-to-day requirements and activities of the EHS incident management and reporting system.
  • Participate in EHS operational and tier discussions, safety committees, and teams.
  • Review processes, facilities, procedures, and management of change documents to ensure conformance to recognized EHS regulations, standards, and guidelines.
  • Provide support to staff in completing injury/illness investigations, additional training, data analysis, and addressing specific concerns.
  • Participate in regulatory inspections and assist in addressing noted concerns and citations.
  • Review site data for the EHS reporting system and identify data gaps and concerns.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Chemical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • Minimum 3-5 years direct occupational safety work experience.
  • Technical working knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations, as well as CDC, NIH, and BMBL guidelines.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • CIH and/or CSP certification.
  • First Aid, EMT, or Paramedic certification.
  • Working knowledge of six-sigma and operational excellence.
  • Experience with GMP environments and biotechnology processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly interpret complex regulatory issues and provide recommended courses of action.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-motivated, flexible, creative, and able to prioritize and work in a fast-paced environment.
