Job Summary

This position is responsible for overseeing the clinical placement of nursing students, providing support for graduate nursing programs, and assisting in new program development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate undergraduate clinical placements for all students at all clinical sites by negotiating with other area nursing programs.
  • Identify, evaluate, and advocate for advantageous undergraduate and graduate clinical placements through in-person visits and remote communication.
  • Collect and verify agreements with health care facilities and clinics, clinical partners, and preceptors.
  • Assign students to clinical sites, preceptors, and shifts, and manage student compliance with practicum requirements and policies.
  • Maintain files and review for completeness, including the database of clinical sites and preceptors.
  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with health care providers and network with health care professionals to identify new potential affiliates.
  • Provide administrative support for graduate programs as needed, including composing and proofreading correspondence, forms, and reports.
  • Participate in marketing and special events, and assist with special projects.
Requirements
  • Knowledge of University/academic policies and procedures; MSN admission requirements; computer word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and other desktop software.
  • Skills in research and development of needs assessments for new programs and grants; multitasking skills in planning and executing assignments and events.
  • Skills in use of MS Office suite, including Word, Excel, and Access; skills in use of MS Office suite, sorting and filing (paper and electronic documents), looking up data in student information system.
  • Writing and editing skills to produce clear and concise prose; negotiation skills to work negotiate favorably and collegially with competitive parties for limited resources.
  • Ability to read and understand written and verbal instructions, correspondence, reports, etc.; prepare clear, concise, and grammatically correct memos, reports, emails, and letters.
