We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Audiology Extern 4th Year Student to join our team at Ogden Clinic. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing diagnostic evaluation of hearing, prevention, habilitation and rehabilitation services for auditory and balance problems.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Provide professional and courteous service to all patients, affiliates, providers, administration, employees, co-workers, insurance company representatives, and all other vendor representatives.
  2. Meet behavioral expectations and support the dignity of all persons. Also responsible for the stewardship of resources.
  3. Ensure applicable regulatory requirements are complied with and follow guidelines that maintain safety for oneself, patients, visitors, and co-workers.
  4. Study, understand, and adhere to all Clinic Policies and Procedures and OSHA guidelines.
Essential Job Functions
  1. Provides diagnostic evaluation of hearing, prevention, habilitation and rehabilitation services for auditory and balance problems.
  2. Routinely physically and otoscopically examines the outer structures of the ear.
  3. Fits, programs, and dispenses hearing aids.
  4. Performs electroacoustic measures of the peripheral and central auditory systems.
  5. Counsels individuals with auditory disorders, their families and other service providers regarding the etiology of the disorder and its management.
  6. Provides reports and coordinates audiological results with other diagnostic data such as educational, medical, social, and behavioral information.
Additional Responsibilities
  1. Additional responsibilities and tasks as assigned.
  2. Maintain confidentiality of patient records and employee/co-worker information.
Qualifications
  1. EDUCATION: Completed four year bachelor's degree and three years in a doctoral level audiology program.
  2. LANGUAGE SKILLS: Proficient in reading and interpreting documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Able to write routine reports and correspondence as well as speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.
  3. Effectively manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  4. Computer knowledge with experience in basic word processing and spreadsheet programs required.
  5. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  6. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  7. General office equipment and procedure knowledge helpful.
Environmental Factors
  1. Requires prolonged sitting, standing, and walking.
  2. Requires moderate exposure to vomit and ear wax.
  3. Requires some bending, stooping, lifting, and stretching for files and supplies.
  4. Requires manual dexterity sufficient to operate audiology instruments and other equipment.
  5. Must possess all physical abilities necessary to perform the job.
  6. Noise level is moderate with constant noise of patients, computers, printers, telephones, etc.
