This position will assist in conceptualizing and implementing a strategic roadmap aimed at enhancing talent management capabilities. These capabilities will transition from compliance-focused assessments to a comprehensive workforce planning and management framework.
Success in this role hinges on the ability to deliver structured solutions that align with regulatory obligations, organizational readiness, and integration with the overarching talent management practices of City National Bank (CNB). Each stage of capability development will yield value through insights, metrics, and processes that influence leadership perspectives and decision-making regarding talent management.
This role requires collaboration across the organization to engage stakeholders through effective change management strategies, communication, capability development, and data-driven insights. Staying informed about best practices and industry trends is essential to enhance the effectiveness of our talent management programs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Enhance workforce performance by identifying critical workforce needs, including skills and competencies necessary for achieving business objectives.
- Specialize in determining the talent requirements of the organization and implementing suitable training and development initiatives.
- Oversee the development and management of strategies and processes for learning, leadership development, and workforce planning.
- Collaborate with Human Resources leadership to identify organizational gaps and recommend necessary updates to policies and processes.
- Design and implement talent strategies and tools to manage human resource initiatives effectively.
- Build organizational capability to conduct staffing and skills assessments, evolving into comprehensive workforce planning processes.
- Educate management and stakeholders on talent management governance and change management strategies.
- Facilitate the development of a mature workforce planning capability, collaborating with the Talent Management leadership team to evaluate practices and establish an optimal roadmap.
- Provide expert guidance on workforce and talent needs, addressing challenges and opportunities.
- Ensure that assessments and workforce planning practices support long-term models and forecasts for staffing and budgeting.
- Act as a subject matter expert on workforce assessments and planning, advising business leaders in a dynamic environment.
- Utilize external economic and human capital data to inform workforce assessments and planning.
- Partner with change management teams to implement effective strategies for adopting new tools and processes.
- Work with HR and business leaders to prioritize critical talent needs aligned with regulatory standards and growth objectives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in the banking sector.
- At least 7 years of relevant experience in Talent Management or Program Governance within Human Resources.
- Expertise in skills taxonomy development, competency frameworks, and people analytics.
- Experience in program development and project management.
- Familiarity with workforce planning and regulatory-driven staffing.
- Change management experience is preferred.
- Proven ability to lead the development of reports based on quantitative and qualitative data.
- Strong leadership, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on strategic execution.
- Ability to navigate ambiguity with critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Exceptional collaboration skills to engage resources across the organization.
- Experience in team leadership is required.
Compensation:
Starting base salary: $122,535 - $208,715 per year. Compensation may vary based on skills and experience.
