Join Our Team as a Scientist - Process Development

BlueRock Therapeutics is a leading engineered cell therapy company using its unique cell+gene platform to direct cellular differentiation and genetically engineer cells to create a new generation of cellular medicines. We are seeking a talented and self-motivated Scientist - Process Development to join our team in New York City.

Responsibilities:
  • Design, execute, and oversee experiments in partnership with other team members to optimize PSC starting material yield and quality in a bioreactor system.
  • Develop and implement process parameters for cell culture and downstream processing to improve PSC maintenance and growth conditions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to solve scientific problems and prioritize and plan characterization and distribution of cell materials.
  • Participate in tech transfer activities to Manufacturing and analyze and document experimental data in electronic laboratory notebooks.
  • Mentor and motivate others in scientific and/or technical topics to enable key activities to be completed appropriately and on-time.
Requirements:
  • Ph.D or MSc. degree in a Biological Science, such as Biochemistry, Immunology, Molecular Biology, or similar.
  • Extensive mammalian cell culture and cell characterization experience, ideally with PSCs.
  • Practical knowledge of experimental design software and statistical analysis of data.
  • Understanding and experience of molecular techniques such as cell imaging, flow cytometry, or qPCR and ddPCR.
  • Ability to plan experiments and independently execute complex tasks.
  • Strong English written and verbal communications skills.
  • Proficiency in technical scientific writing.
  • Ability to work in a fast-changing environment.
  • Collaborative team player.
