Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Emergency Department Nurse Manager to join our team at the University of New Mexico - Hospitals. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our emergency department, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care, and promoting a culture of safety and excellence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve patient outcomes, reduce wait times, and enhance the overall patient experience.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure seamless communication and coordination of care.
  • Lead and manage a team of nurses and other healthcare professionals, providing guidance, support, and development opportunities.
  • Monitor and analyze departmental performance metrics, identifying areas for improvement and implementing evidence-based solutions.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and regulatory requirements, applying this knowledge to drive continuous quality improvement.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Nursing or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in emergency department leadership or a related field.
  • Proven track record of improving patient outcomes, reducing costs, and enhancing operational efficiency.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
