We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Emergency Department Nurse Manager to join our team at the University of New Mexico - Hospitals. Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement strategic plans to improve patient care and satisfaction
- Lead and manage a team of nurses and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless delivery of care
- Collaborate with physicians, other departments, and stakeholders to ensure effective communication and coordination
- Monitor and analyze patient outcomes, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes as needed
- Develop and manage budgets, ensuring efficient use of resources
- Recruit, train, and develop staff to ensure they have the skills and knowledge needed to provide high-quality care
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and hospital policies
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of policies and procedures
- Master's degree in Nursing or related field
- 5 years of experience in emergency nursing, with at least 2 years in a leadership role
- Current RN licensure in New Mexico or eligibility for licensure
- Advanced life support certifications (e.g. ACLS, PALS)
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
This is a medium work position, requiring the ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods. The work environment is fast-paced and dynamic, with exposure to chemicals and hazardous equipment.
