Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Nurse Manager to lead our Emergency Department team at the University of New Mexico - Hospitals. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the department, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care, and promoting a culture of excellence and safety.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement departmental policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and hospital standards.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to improve patient outcomes, reduce lengths of stay, and enhance the patient experience.
  • Supervise and mentor nursing staff, providing guidance and support to ensure optimal patient care and staff development.
  • Manage departmental budgets, resources, and personnel to ensure efficient and effective operations.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, identifying areas for improvement and implementing evidence-based solutions.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Nursing or related field.
  • 5 years of experience in emergency nursing, with a minimum of 2 years in a leadership role.
  • Current RN licensure in New Mexico or eligibility for reciprocal agreement.
  • CPR for Healthcare/BLS certification.
