Job Title: GCO Controls Monitoring and Testing Manager

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage in the planning of issue remediation, offering insights for effective resolution.
  • Contribute to audit readiness and examination preparations.
  • Involve in significant project and program design initiatives.
  • Conduct control assessments and testing.
  • Execute evaluation activities.
  • Carry out compliance monitoring indicator (CMI) tasks.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or a related academic discipline, or equivalent education and experience.
  • A minimum of three years of experience in risk management within financial services or a related sector.
  • Solid foundation in essential technology areas, particularly data management.
  • Comprehensive understanding of core risk programs, with an emphasis on issue management and testing.
  • Thorough knowledge of regulations, guidelines, and compliance requirements pertinent to financial institutions and core risk types.
  • Extensive experience in auditing and testing methodologies.
  • Strong grasp of control testing processes.
  • Basic familiarity with primary business lines and their responsibilities.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities to guide teams and manage cross-functional activities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Ability to provide constructive challenges across various organizational levels.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally, including overnight trips.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in finance or a related academic field.
  • Five years of risk management experience in financial services or a similar industry.
  • Certification as a Financial Risk Manager (FRM) or Certified Financial Analyst (CFA) or equivalent advanced risk certification.
  • Experience in consulting at a corporate level.
  • Background in the financial services sector, including Wealth Management, Corporate Investment Banking, Commercial Banking, Commercial Real Estate, or Lending.
  • Knowledge of the Registered Investment Advisor (RIA) industry and GIPS standards; FINRA licenses.
  • Certifications such as CIA, CPA, CISA, MPA, MBA, or other advanced degrees.
  • Proven ability to identify operational, compliance, reputational, strategic, liquidity, market, and technology risks.
  • Exceptional written, PowerPoint, and oral communication skills, coupled with strong decision-making and judgment abilities.
  • Detail-oriented with the capacity to work independently in a dynamic environment while managing multiple priorities.
  • Progressive experience in audit, operations, process engineering, or risk management within the financial services sector.
  • In-depth knowledge of SOX and other industry-related regulatory standards.
  • Ability to evaluate adherence and execution levels, identifying opportunities for improvement in risk management principles and controls.
  • Project management expertise.
