This position involves performing radiographic examinations with minimal supervision under the direction of a Radiologist. The successful candidate will coordinate daily activities, including performing examinations and associated clerical duties.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct and assist with radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures.
- Document patient history related to specific procedures on requisitions submitted by physicians.
- Verify patient identification through verbal confirmation and validation of proof of identity.
- Prepare and administer contrast media as required.
- Consult with radiologists and other physicians as necessary.
- Select and operate equipment according to the demands of individual procedures and demonstrate correct and adequate anatomic positioning skills.
- Maintain accurate records as per departmental standards.
This role requires strenuous physical effort while assisting patients from wheelchairs and stretchers. The individual must handle equipment and monitoring supplies, possess good oral and written communication skills to interact with patients and hospital staff, and be able to frequently stretch, bend, twist, squat, or kneel in operating radiographic equipment.
Education, Experience, and CertificationsThe successful candidate must have completed a formal Radiology Tech Program in an AMA-approved facility, hold ARRT registration, and possess Basic Life Support for Healthcare Provider (BLS HCP) certification from AHA. New graduates must be registry eligible with registry completion within one year of hire date.
