As a Senior Commercial Underwriter within PNC's Regional Credit Products Group, you will play a crucial role in our operations.

Job Responsibilities
  • Operate independently, exercising elevated approval authority. Prepare proposals for various transaction types, regardless of complexity, and manage assigned portfolios. Engage with both internal and external clients, offering insights on credit structuring. Act as a subject matter expert for specific asset classes and lead special projects or assignments as needed. Mentor and guide colleagues on best practices and processes.
  • Utilize independent judgment to assess risks and mitigants, preparing proposals and/or scorecards, including risk ratings, by evaluating credit, collateral strength, and financial viability of loan/transaction parties. If applicable, conduct ongoing credit risk management for assigned portfolios. Provide coaching and review the work of fellow underwriters, stepping in for management when necessary.
  • Communicate with internal and external clients and other relevant parties to gather necessary information and clarify any inconsistencies or missing details. Conduct relevant pre-approval and post-approval tasks.
  • Identify and confirm all external regulatory requirements, ensuring adherence to internal policies and procedures.
  • Make informed recommendations on credit decisions or directly make credit decisions as appropriate.
  • Positions at this level typically require a university/college degree and a minimum of 5 years of relevant industry experience. Specific certifications may be required. A combination of education and experience (including military service) may be considered in lieu of a degree.
