Position Overview:
This role is designed for individuals who are passionate about providing technology support within an educational environment. The Technology Support Technician will play a crucial role in assisting faculty, staff, and students with various technical issues, ensuring a seamless technology experience across the institution.
Key Responsibilities:
- Hardware Support: Assist users with troubleshooting hardware problems and guide them through basic network connectivity solutions.
- Software Support: Provide support for software-related issues, including reimaging personal computers, installing necessary software, and performing updates. Help users with virus removal and configuring email on mobile devices.
- Administrative Duties: Manage and respond to emails and support tickets, ensuring timely follow-up. Maintain documentation and contribute to the development of educational materials for users.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with other departments to enhance the technology support services offered to the university community.
Qualifications:
Applicants should possess a high school diploma and at least one year of relevant experience in technology support. Additional experience or education in computer science may be considered in lieu of direct experience. Candidates should have familiarity with both Windows and Mac operating systems, networking troubleshooting, and various software applications, including Microsoft Office 365 and antivirus solutions.
Work Schedule:
This position may require flexibility in work hours, including evenings and weekends, to meet the needs of the university.
