Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the scheduling, rescheduling, and cancellation of patient appointments efficiently.
  • Provide clear and professional responses to patient inquiries, ensuring a friendly atmosphere.
  • Handle a multi-line telephone system, effectively screening and directing calls in a busy environment.
  • Document detailed messages and ensure they reach the appropriate personnel promptly.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, healthcare providers, and staff, delivering timely and accurate information.
  • Monitor voicemail messages and return patient calls within a 24-hour timeframe.
  • Maintain accurate documentation within patient records to ensure compliance and quality care.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned to support the team and enhance patient services.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Prior experience in customer service and handling multi-line phones is preferred.
  • One year of experience in a medical office setting is advantageous.

Skills:

  • Exceptional oral and written communication abilities.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology and electronic medical records is beneficial.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to seek guidance when necessary.
  • Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment and remain calm in emergency situations.
  • Proficient in establishing and nurturing effective working relationships with patients and colleagues.
  • Basic computer skills are required.
