Position: Press Operator - 3rd Shift

Overview:
This role involves shared accountability for the setup and operation of mechanical power presses in the manufacturing of high-quality stampings. The operator will oversee the stamping process and maintain precise documentation to ensure products meet customer specifications.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Utilize appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) to foster a safe working environment.
  • Monitor press operations, conduct visual inspections of parts, and adhere to quality standards while maintaining accurate records.
  • Complete necessary production and quality documentation, including tagging, daily reports, setup sheets, and time reports.
  • Ensure cleanliness and organization of the workspace.
  • Employ measuring tools such as micrometers and calipers to verify that parts meet quality criteria.
  • Assist in die setups and load coils into the feed line.
  • Adjust lubrication for dies and troubleshoot production issues, collaborating with team members to enhance processes.
  • Make necessary adjustments for dies, presses, straighteners, and feeders, including optimizing conveyor placements and scrap removal methods.
  • Coordinate the flow of containers and manage scrap segregation and disposal.
  • Oversee the activities of personnel at the press.

Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to operate all presses with transfer systems and/or progressive dies, including job setup and first piece approvals.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.

Physical Requirements:
The physical demands of this position include walking, sitting, standing, bending, squatting, twisting, and climbing throughout the workday. The role may require lifting up to 40 lbs and pushing scrap with similar resistance. Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
