Role Summary

The MRI Imaging Specialist is responsible for conducting MRI scans while ensuring the safety and integrity of the MRI environment for all individuals, including staff and patients. This role involves maintaining an adequate inventory of supplies necessary for performing examinations, as well as explaining procedures to patients and completing all required departmental documentation.

Experience Requirements

A minimum of one year of experience in a Radiologic Technologist role, which may include Radiologic Technology, Nuclear Medicine, Mammography, or Ultrasound, is preferred. Candidates must have completed an MRI training program or possess a 24-month degree in radiologic technology in lieu of experience. Additionally, six months of MRI experience or completion of an MRI didactic program is preferred. Candidates are required to obtain ARRT MR advanced registry or ARMRIT certification within two years of employment.

Certifications Required

  • ARRT Registered Radiologic Technologist (RT)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA)
  • Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) from the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB)
  • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS)
