Key Responsibilities:
Team Development
- Recruit and cultivate a high-achieving accounting team: manage hiring, onboarding, and mentorship.
- Establish clear roles and responsibilities, setting expectations and delivering constructive feedback.
- Conduct performance assessments and maintain open communication regarding policies and procedures.
Financial Management
- Oversee the general ledger management and produce managerial reports for various departments.
- Ensure the accurate and timely recording of financial transactions in accordance with industry standards.
- Assist in the preparation of regular financial statements and manage daily cash flow.
- Handle monthly accruals across various categories such as accounts receivable, inventory, and payroll.
- Develop and implement financial controls, ensuring appropriate separation of duties and compliance.
- Supervise the preparation of financial documents, including compliance reports and budgets.
- Facilitate annual audit processes in collaboration with external auditors.
Inventory Oversight
- Create and enforce corporate policies for inventory management.
- Ensure accurate record-keeping and conduct regular inventory audits.
- Work with division leaders to customize inventory reporting and manage reserve levels.
- Provide reports on obsolete or damaged inventory.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting with CPA certification required.
- A minimum of seven years of progressive accounting experience, including at least three years in a leadership role.
- Skilled in summarizing and presenting financial insights to senior leadership.
- Extensive experience collaborating with auditors, managing internal controls, and working with financial institutions and legal advisors.
- Proven experience in managing inventory counts and reconciliations across multiple locations.
- Proficient in Excel; familiarity with Sage platforms is advantageous.
- Exhibits integrity, reliability, and a proactive mindset.
- Highly organized with outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to adapt to a rapidly changing environment and effectively engage with all organizational levels.
- Competent in evaluating and documenting team performance.
