Key Responsibilities:

Team Development

  • Recruit and cultivate a high-achieving accounting team: manage hiring, onboarding, and mentorship.
  • Establish clear roles and responsibilities, setting expectations and delivering constructive feedback.
  • Conduct performance assessments and maintain open communication regarding policies and procedures.

Financial Management

  • Oversee the general ledger management and produce managerial reports for various departments.
  • Ensure the accurate and timely recording of financial transactions in accordance with industry standards.
  • Assist in the preparation of regular financial statements and manage daily cash flow.
  • Handle monthly accruals across various categories such as accounts receivable, inventory, and payroll.
  • Develop and implement financial controls, ensuring appropriate separation of duties and compliance.
  • Supervise the preparation of financial documents, including compliance reports and budgets.
  • Facilitate annual audit processes in collaboration with external auditors.

Inventory Oversight

  • Create and enforce corporate policies for inventory management.
  • Ensure accurate record-keeping and conduct regular inventory audits.
  • Work with division leaders to customize inventory reporting and manage reserve levels.
  • Provide reports on obsolete or damaged inventory.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting with CPA certification required.
  • A minimum of seven years of progressive accounting experience, including at least three years in a leadership role.
  • Skilled in summarizing and presenting financial insights to senior leadership.
  • Extensive experience collaborating with auditors, managing internal controls, and working with financial institutions and legal advisors.
  • Proven experience in managing inventory counts and reconciliations across multiple locations.
  • Proficient in Excel; familiarity with Sage platforms is advantageous.
  • Exhibits integrity, reliability, and a proactive mindset.
  • Highly organized with outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to adapt to a rapidly changing environment and effectively engage with all organizational levels.
  • Competent in evaluating and documenting team performance.
