Senior Logistics Operations Leader

Position Overview:

The Senior Operations Manager will provide strategic direction and leadership to ensure that customer expectations are fulfilled while aligning with our organizational goals. This role demands a professional demeanor while facilitating solutions that meet all contractual commitments. Building and nurturing a relationship with the client's logistics manager is essential for maintaining operational stability.

Key Responsibilities:

Team Leadership:

  • Ensure supervisors comprehend how their roles contribute to the overarching business objectives.
  • Conduct interviews and hire associates up to the supervisory level.
  • Foster engagement by celebrating team successes and recognizing individual contributions.
  • Support the development of direct reports through targeted training and succession planning.

Operational Excellence:

  • Engage daily with local clients to understand their current and future needs.
  • Leverage the team to identify areas for operational enhancements, including route optimization and inventory accuracy.
  • Collaborate with other sites to share best practices and optimize resource utilization.

Financial Management:

  • Develop and implement the annual financial and operational strategy.
  • Manage operations with integrity to meet or exceed financial targets.
  • Identify and address issues related to operational metrics and financial performance.
  • Ensure timely and accurate customer billing and payroll processing.

Safety Standards:

  • Monitor and enhance safety performance metrics.
  • Ensure all associates are aware of their safety responsibilities.
  • Proactively identify and rectify unsafe conditions and practices.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and company policies.

Customer Experience and Growth:

  • Implement processes to track and document value delivered to clients.
  • Identify and pursue profitable business opportunities.
  • Utilize metrics to enhance customer efficiencies and achieve cost savings.

Asset Management:

  • Monitor and improve fleet utilization and fuel efficiency.
  • Contribute to equipment specifications during startup and renewal phases.
  • Establish strong relationships with local vendors and equipment suppliers.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in logistics and supply chain management.
  • At least 3 years of managerial or supervisory experience.
  • High School diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's degree in Business or Supply Chain Management preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills are essential.
  • Willingness to travel as necessary and adhere to the required schedule.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to perform essential functions of the job, including reading, communicating, and analyzing information.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, and sit, and occasionally lift up to 25 lbs.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision and depth perception.
